Lenape:     Nèk lëpweìnuwàk luweyok, "Nchanilìsihëna.
English:     Those wise men said, "We have done wrong.
Lenape:     Mahtelìntàm èt wa kuxëna Kishelëmùkònk.
English:     He is unhappy our father the Creator.
Lenape:     Patamahënàch wèmi èntxiènk."
English:     We will pray each and every one of us."
Lenape:     Na wènchimao kèxa mimënsa
English:     Then they sent for several children
Lenape:     èli pilsuwàk nèki mimënsa.
English:     because the children were pure.
Lenape:     Liteheyok nèki lëpweìnuwàk
English:     The thought of the wise men
Lenape:     xu Kishelëmùkònk wètënëmën nèkao patamweokàna

English:     They began to repeatedly hit those children who were ascending.
Lenape:     Hnakatàmëneyo nèl niskhèmpsa ènta pëpahkamahtit
English:     They used those dirty clothes and when they were hit
Lenape:     kèxa pënihëleyok, hàkink mahtèxinuk.
English:     several of them fell down, they landed on the ground.
Lenape:     Na nishash xkwechëchàk àspiyok
English:     Then seven girls ascended
Lenape:     chimahpuwàk mushhakunk luweyok kikayuyëmënaninkahke,
English:     and they stayed forever in the sky our ancestors said,
Lenape:     "Nèhkwësuwàk ènta nèk Ansisktayèsàk
English:     "They can be seen when those Seven Sisters
Lenape:     ahpihtit mushhakunk tahkokwëni."
